Christmas Devotional: When Silence Spoke

17 Dec. 2025

There is a gap of about 400 years between when God last spoke through the prophet Malachi and when the birth of Jesus was announced.

Now, four hundred years is a long time. God’s people waited without hearing His voice.

It wasn’t because God had forgotten them, and it wasn’t because His promises had failed. God had already spoken — about a Saviour who would come.

The silence revealed something important: human effort couldn’t fix the problem. Rules couldn’t save. Religion couldn’t rescue.

So when the time was right, God didn’t send another message. He sent His Son. Jesus didn’t come to give advice. He came to rescue.

That’s why Christmas matters.
