Christmas Devotional: All That You Want For Christmas

22 Dec. 2025

Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

What if Christmas is actually about God giving us exactly what we most need ?

The heart of Christmas is not humanity reaching up to God, but God coming down to us. And Jesus himself tells us why he came.

In one verse — Mark 10:45, Jesus shares the meaning of Christmas, giving us three reasons why Jesus was born.

  1. Jesus came to be with you.
  2. Jesus came to die instead of you.
  3. Jesus came to serve you by saving you.

Beneath every desire is a deeper longing for God himself. And Christmas declares that God has already come to meet that longing. Christmas is not just about gifts under a tree. It is about the greatest gift imaginable— God giving himself to you as your Saviour.
